Meet Tiffany…Part II

Fun facts about me…. your photographer, your friend, your sister, your cousin, your niece, your granddaughter, your daughter. I am happy. But it’s not the happy where you smile once and continue on with your day. It’s the kind of happy where you wonder to yourself “where did this girl come from?”  I’ve been known to listen to Christmas music throughout the year and use the word FUN way too much. But that’s me.  50% Italian, 50% Irish, and 100% thankful for every journey that has brought me to this point in my life: Taking pictures for a living and having FUN. I’ve traveled as far away as South Korea, lived in Los Angeles, New York City, and in a small town outside of Greenfield, Massachusetts- but I finally landed where I started: Upstate New York.  I like it here. It’s home.  Moving back to New York was a journey in itself. It was bittersweet-I was leaving behind a group of friends that became my family. The type of friends you make once in your life. I miss them every day! But, when I left California I didn’t just leave with good memories and best friends…I left with a new family member: a dog. His name is Beckham and he was only three months old when I adopted him from the Pasadena Animal Shelter. He is my precious little hairy man and makes me laugh every single day. My friend Gabriel, aka “Gabo” (who happens to be a great photographer) took some pictures of me and my new hairy son. Thank you, Gabo!! To visit Gabriel’s website click here!

FACT: Some of my cousins are my best friends.  I have over twenty first cousins. The photo below was taken over Easter. Me and my sister Taryn with two of our favorite cousins, Alisa and Chris.

FACT: Photography was always a part of my life. My cousins and I would take “model pictures” with a CVS disposable camera and now, I still bug them to model for me! So you saw Alisa as a kid above, but below you will see her as a beautiful young woman…and my model! It was a rainy cold day five years ago when I took these pictures of her! All worth it!

Meet my mom, dad, and sister. The FUN family portrait-also taken five years ago. The concept: A dysfunctional family portrait with my functional family. I was going for the “colored-pencil-on-the-morning-newspaper” look…successful? Eh. I was still learning…and I still have a lot to learn!

FACT: I’ve been told many times that I see the world through “rose colored glasses.” It just so happens that my favorite flower is a hot pink rose.

FACT: I love perfume. I have over twenty fragrances… including Dolce and Gabbana “Rose the One.” (its possible that I only bought this perfume because it was pink and has rose in the name)

FACT: I love poodles. (and my mom loves them even more) This picture was taken at a local dog show…for my mom.

FACT: My mom makes my favorite cookie: the sugar cookie. It’s the cookie in the picture below. Yes, my mom made that. That cookie is 4 years old in this picture. It has been sitting in the freezer as a leftover souvenir from my sisters wedding.

MMM. Now I want a cookie. Ok, moving on…

FACT: I produced a shoot for a line of i-Pod accessories for a company called Mophie. NYC in the middle of winter…good times.

FACT: I worked as Director of Photography for Woman’s World Magazine. I loved working at a magazine! Everything from the leopard carpet to the red chairs…it was fabulous!

Part of my job at Woman’s World required me to be in the photo studios three times a week-directing, styling, overseeing the shots to make sure they were completed properly.

FACT: I am a set stylist. Styling was so much fun! Here are some pictures that were taken at the Bauer Publishing studios…styling by me, of course!

FACT: This next picture will always be one of my all time favorite shots. Her name is Michelle and she was a photo student at the photography school I was attending.

FACT: I am a perfectionist. Once upon a time I was unhappy with a product that I shot…so at 3:30am (yes, AM) I found a bar of soap, moved my medium format camera system (while tethered to a computer) into the men’s bathroom of my photography school and took a new product picture. A bar of soap. I had an assistant making the “suds” and fellow students watching me as I captured this soap in all its glory. I still can’t remember why I chose the men’s room…strange.

FACT: I design logos. Ok, that might be a stretch. But I have been known to help out designing things for my family. This  particular design was for my sister. She started her own “treat” baking business.

FACT: I am the founder of “The Bizness Hour.” Once or twice a month local professionals (all professions and ages welcome) will gather at a local bar/restaurant to hand out business cards, make connections, have a drink, and help grow their business! For more information click here!

FACT: Internet High-Fives make me happy.

FACT: I ran, and finished, the Los Angeles marathon after only training for three months. 26.2 miles. I was never much of a runner. In fact, my motto once was “I hate running.” I was at a cross road in my life and I needed to prove to myself that I could do anything I put my mind to. So, about mid-February I decided I would run a marathon. The furthest I ever ran at that point in my life was maybe three miles ten years ago. That was February, the race was three months later in May. I didn’t stop once.

I am not the type of person who settles for mediocrity. I am not the type of person who checks out at 4:59pm. I am not the type of person who gives and expects things in return. I am not the type of person who thinks putting in 99% effort is good enough. FACT: I dream BIG.
